- An example of a young character who challenges the stereotype that all young people are lazy underachievers is the character Sheldon from the show young Sheldon. A young boy who is an overachiever and is way above his age grade in school, he is also shown to have high work ethic which combats the stereotype of laziness and disinterest in education and learning between young people.
- An example of a young character which reinforces the stereotype that are unwise, lazy, underachievers is the character Georgie who is Sheldon's older brother in young Sheldon. A young boy who is uninterested in school and learning and focuses all his time and energy into sports. His low grades and regular in-completion of homework back up my claim that he has no interest in succeeding academically.
- An example of a character who challenges the stereotype of women being unintelligent, weak and a sexual object is lady Macbeth. She is a mentally strong women who uses the powerful men around her to her advantage in order to gain power, this challenges stereotypes as it shows a female character as smart and mentally strong.
- An example of a character who reinforces this stereotype is Cindy in scary movie 4. She is an attractive blonde female who's lack of intelligence is relied on for an easy laugh. This reinforces the stereotype of women being used as a sexual object and being dumb
- An example of a character who challenges the stereotype of black people being unintelligent and criminals is the character Chris Gardner in the movie pursuit of happyness. He is an intelligent hard working man with a son and a wife with his number one strive being to allow for his son to have a good life. This challenges stereotypes of black people as being unintelligent as he works hard and is able to get a well paying job and support his family.

- An example of a character who challenges the stereotype of gay people being very feminine and outgoing is the character captain Holt in Brooklyn nine-nine. He challenges the stereotype as a reclusive character who wears a suit and various formal clothing.
